End the strike already!

Seriously....Thursdays for me used to mean GREY'S ANATOMY...highlight of my week! Now my Thursdays are ridiculously dull. At least tonight I'll be keeping busy! I'm taking over my old roommates room and preparing for my new roommate to move in! Lucky I have all the major things moved over and am left with the fun job of decorating and re-arranging! (ps. this is really exciting for me due to my new closet....it is literally the size of my bedroom! Its AMAZING!)

Anyways, yesterday in my class I had to give a huge presentation about my life. I don't think I'll ever get used to standing up in front of my class every week presenting various project. It's soo nerve racking! Here are some pics of me and Alyssa working on our poster boards....

It was quite the craft project if you can't tell by the huge mess surrounding us!

Mr Sun. Sun. Mr Golden Sun...

PLEASE SHINE DOWN ON ME!!

I kid you not, there is a BLIZZARD outside! I am not a winter person...I need the sun and warm weather!! My office window looks out over our parking lot and I can't even see any of the cars! This is insane...

Anyways, I want to thank everyone who made my birthday great! Compared to past birthday's this one was very relaxed but I had such a good day. I went out to dinner to Hoppers with Jake and my best friends. It was so nice to be with my favorite people! After dinner me and Jake hung out and watched Game Plan...one of my presents. So cute!

Friday night Alyssa and I treated ourselves to a girls night! I'm not going to lie...we are pretty fun people :) I don't know what I would do with out this girl in my life...Between her and Jake there is never a dull moment!

I have to brag for a moment that I have the most amazing boyfriend! I dragged him to family events on Saturday AND Sunday and he did it all without complaining...if you've ever met my family that's pretty amazing! I think i complained more than he did (my family is pretty much crazy!) Thanks babe for being such a good sport!! He also got me the BEST birthday presents. I am so excited about them. He gave me Nike Plus for my running. This thing is soo cool!! I also got the new book from Khaled Hosseini which I can't wait to start reading. I love you Jake!!

Oh man...wish me luck! I have to venture out in to the blizzard......Happy Monday Everyone!

Thank Goodness Its FRIDAY!

I am so happy its Friday! I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Its going to be busy but filled with lots of family and friends!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So.... I am also officially an "OLD MAID" by Utah standards. My birthday was yesterday. I turned 22 (ehh, I hate saying that already). I want to thank everyone who made my day so great, especially my best friend Alyssa and my amazing boyfriend Jake! I love you both soo much! I'll be posting some pictures from my birthday soon.

I was missing my family a lot yesterday. Birthdays just aren't the same with out them! We have a tradition that I must say is one of my favorites. My mom serves us cinnamon rolls in bed and the whole family comes in and sings happy birthday. Its such a great way to start the day off! Now that I'm out of the house I usually make them for myself......minus the singing part!

Over the summer we took a family vacation to Miami, which was a blast, and took family photos. Since they have been on my mind I thought I'd post some of my favorite ones!!
I laugh every time I see this one....the faces on everyone are amazing!

This one was taken at the MTC right before my brother began serving his mission! I had to work so I couldn't be there. He's currently serving a mission for the LDS church in Peru. We're all so proud of him and miss him like crazy!

PS. I also want to wish my Grandma and Hadley Hamblin HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Weekend Re-Cap..

Let me just say...I love love LOVE three day weekends!! It was so nice to hang out and RELAX! I've been slacking big time on the blogging thing so I'll do a little re-cap of what's been going on lately...

I started school! Of course I am stuck with a teacher that does not believe in doing written assignments so every thing is an oral project in front of the class...throw in some debates and its my biggest nightmare. For starters I am the WORST debater there is...We had our first debate last week and luckily I wasn't the only one who sucks at it! I have three major projects due next week so they are definitely keeping me busy.
Here is a picture of me and Alyssa on our first day of school...(I had the flu that week so its not my most flattering picture)

Last weekend one of my very best friends had her wedding reception. It was at this really great venue called Cactus and Tropicals with exotic plants and fountains everywhere! She looked amazing!! She got married in December down in Oklahoma. It was so nice to see her and her new hubby! She's going to school up in Logan so we don't get to see each other very often. For those of you who don't know...me and Stephanie go all the way back to my Wisconsin days.

I'm still training for the marathon in April. Here's a pic of me and Alyssa before we started our run...
This weekend was great. Jake and I hit up a comedy club on Friday and had a blast! Neither of us had ever been to one before and I must say, I was impressed. A couple of the guys were HILARIOUS!

Saturday was spent working on one of my big class projects. We have to make a poster board of our life....which means I get to do crafts! Me and Alyssa hit up one of my favorite stores...Michaels! I could spend ALL day in that store. Alyssa had a hard time dragging my butt out.

Sunday my grandparents where in town from St. George. Its always exciting when they come up because they take me out to eat which I don't get to do very often. After lunch we went over to my cousin's house who just had a gorgeous baby girl. I love babies this age! Congrats Lindsay!

The rest of the weekend I spent on the couch curled up in a blanket with Jake watching movies. It snowed at least a foot at my house so I did everything to avoid going out in the snow!

Anyways, I hope everyone had a great weekend and in honor of MLK I thought I'd leave a quote by him...

"I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality... I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word."

"I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear."

Just Another Manic Monday...

OK, maybe not "manic" more like monotonous...If I have to repeat the phrase "Integrated Title, can you please hold?" one more time I might go crazy!

I'm seriously regretting not calling in sick to work right about now. I pretty much feel like I have been run over by a train...Besides the fact that I feel horrible, this day has just not been going my way. First off, I slept through my alarm. I had a miserable night tossing and turning so I managed to get in maybe an hour of sleep. Which means I missed my morning work out (not good when you're training for a marathon and are already WAY behind on training).

And then...after rushing to get ready for work I go out to my car to find my car door FROZEN shut!! So there I am in my heels yanking on my door for at least ten minutes. I literally had to chop away ice...I'm sure I was pretty hilarious to watch, and if it hadn't been happening to me I would have been cracking up! This all caused me to be late for work. Pretty hard for me to do considering I live two minutes away from my office.

Work has been nothing but the same, phone calls and envelope stuffing...thank goodness I have Alyssa to chat with all day or I would literally die of boredom! I usually entertain myself with a good book but I just finished The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

This is an AMAZING book! The author is a beautiful writer. There are some part that are hard to read and I had a hard time not crying sometimes at work but its worth the read and I highly recommend it! It really made me realize how lucky and blessed I am!

Happy New Year!

Where did 2007 go? Seriously...I can't believe its a new year! 2008 is already proving to be a crazy, busy year. There are so many things I'm looking forward to this year. I start school next week and I can't wait! I'll be going into the Surgical Tech program at SLCC. I haven't stepped foot into a classroom for a couple years so I'm sure it will be a challenge to get back into the swing of things.

In April I am running in the Salt Lake City (half) Marathon. Training has not been easy at all! I am not a runner and I struggle everytime I hit the track. Crossing the finish line will be a major accomplishment for me.

I'm also working on getting my Etsy website up and running! Its a place for me to be able to share and sell my original arwork and crafts. I've turned into quite the craft lady lately and as nerdy as it is I love it! As soon as everything gets put together I'll be adding a link so everyone can check it out!

Anyways, I hope everyone has a GREAT New Year! Here is a picture from New Years Eve...
